Information we collect

SoldCount offers read-only analytics on public TikTok Shop listings. To run the service we collect only what we need.

• Account data – your email and, when you sign in with Google, the Google identity (email, name, profile) you authorize. We store your email and a provider identifier.
• Listings you watch: the listings and shops you add to your watchlist, plus the readings we take to work out sold counts, price ranges, and whether a listing is selling faster or slower.
• Listing pages you open with the SoldCount Chrome extension: the page data TikTok embeds in them, and which listings your account opened and when. The next section says exactly what is sent and what we keep.
• Usage and device data – analytics events (sign-in, CTA clicks, page views) via PostHog, browser and device type, and IP address (used to rate-limit enrollment and for security).
• No payment data – SoldCount does not process or store payment card information.

How we use your information

We use this data to provide the service: sign you in, build and show analytics for the listings you track, and send the notifications you have opted into when a tracked listing changes.

We also use it to improve and secure the product (for example, understanding usage, preventing abuse, and rate-limiting). We never sell your personal information, and we never write to, reprice, or otherwise modify your shop or anyone else’s.

Cookies & local storage

We keep a short-lived access token in memory and a refresh token in an HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax cookie scoped to the auth API – JavaScript cannot read that cookie.

We also store a non-sensitive “had_session” flag in localStorage solely to hint whether to attempt a silent refresh on page load. PostHog may set its own cookies for analytics; you can block or clear these.

How we share information

We share data only with the processors that help us run the service: Google (to authenticate you when you choose Sign in with Google), PostHog (analytics), and our hosting and email providers – each under contract and only to provide the service.

We disclose information if required by law.

The SoldCount Chrome extension

The extension runs only on TikTok Shop listing pages. On each one you open, it sends SoldCount the block of data TikTok embeds in that page. That block holds the listing (title, description, photos, price and options, sold counter, rating, category), the seller’s public shop details as TikTok shows them, and the page’s address. It also holds facts TikTok records about your browser: its language and type, its user agent, TikTok’s identifier for it, the region TikTok derives from your IP address, and how TikTok says you reached the page.

It sends this whether or not the card is shown. While you are signed out of SoldCount, we refuse the data without reading it and keep nothing.

• What we keep while you are signed in: the listing and seller details, as a reading of that listing, and a record that your account opened it, with the first and latest time. We do not keep the page address or the facts about your browser; we discard them when we read the page.
• What stays on your device: your extension settings, your last 10 listings (never sent to us), a Watch you pressed while signed out (for 24 hours, until you sign in), and your sign-in token.
• Notifications: if you allow them, the extension sends us your browser’s push address and its user agent, so alerts can reach that browser. Signing out on soldcount.com removes the push address.
• What the extension does not do: it has no analytics, it talks to no server other than SoldCount, it never asks for your TikTok or seller login, and it never changes anything on TikTok.
• How long we keep it: readings of a listing are part of the service and are kept while we track that listing. The record of which listings your account opened is account data: we keep it while you have an account and delete it with your account data when you ask us to.

Claude and other AI assistants (the SoldCount connector)

You can connect SoldCount to Claude or another AI assistant through our connector (an MCP server). The assistant then reads your SoldCount data and makes changes in your SoldCount account on your behalf. It never changes anything on a TikTok shop.

What the assistant sends us: the tool calls it makes and what is in them, for example a listing id or a tag name. We never receive your conversation with the assistant, your files, or your chat history. What the assistant’s provider does with your conversation is covered by that provider’s own privacy policy.

• What we store: a record of every change made through the connector, in your activity log. We also store the connection grant: which app you connected, when you connected it, and when it was last used. We store tokens only in hashed form, never the tokens themselves.
• What we do not do: we do not share this data with anyone beyond the processors named above, and we do not use it to train AI models.
• How to revoke: disconnect SoldCount in your assistant, or revoke the connected app or API key in SoldCount under Automations, then Connect. It stops working on its next call.
• How long we keep it: grant records until you revoke them. Change records are part of your account data: we keep them while you have an account and delete them with your account data when you ask us to delete it.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your account and tracked-listing data while you have an account. You can request access, correction, or deletion at any time (see Contact); we delete account data on request, subject to any legal retention obligations.

Security

We use industry-standard measures – HTTPS in transit, HttpOnly refresh cookies, least-privilege access, and bounded database connection pooling. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the updated version here with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes will be highlighted where we can.
